A Lovely day in Brienz and Thun, Switzerland
Only half an hour from Interlaken west, lies this beautiful village named Brienz.
A quaint little village known for its traditional houses, right on the shores of stunning torquoise colored lake with the backdrop of mountains filled with a beautiful mix of green and yellow.
This is the image that comes to my mind when I am asked to paint a picture of Brienz.
Lake BrienzThough Lake Brienz is one of the many lakes I had seen in Switzerland, but the beauty of this torquoise colored lake is quite mesmerizing.
Giessbachs Falls
Cruise trip from Brienz see to Giessbach see was whimsical with great views.
From Giessbach see, you can either take a funicular ride up to the level of Hotel and hike further up to various levels of waterfalls or you can fully hike your way slowly to enjoy the beauty of the place.
We took one way funicular to reach the level of Hotel and hiked fully down on our return.
You can further hike up the mountains to various tiers of Giessbach falls. There is laid down path upto three tiers.
Hiking our way back to Giessbach see, there were lot of photography opportunities.
Lake Thun
Being someone who would choose a quiet place rather than a busy city life on a holiday.
I loved this day more than any other day.
‘Best days are the days which are unplanned’ True isn’t it?
If you are staying anywhere near Interlaken, I would highly recommend spending a day to explore Brienz and Thun.
