Have you heard of a stay which your kids will enjoy? Surrounded by pristine lake and gorgeous mountains, Destiny farm stay is one such dreamy place where you can get the perfect detox from the hustle of everyday life as well let your kids have utmost fun.

As our jeep reached the stay, we were welcomed by the receptionist with a welcome drink.  After briefing about the activities at Destiny farm stay, we were taken to our room.  The room was spacious and cozy with wooden flooring.

From having well maintained lawn to healthy farm animals to fishing to outdoor play area to trampoline jumps, this lake side resort is everything your kids will desire in a vacation.

Farm Animals
From healthy horses to rabbits to guinea pigs to ducks, this farm has everything. Let your kid enjoy riding the horses as well as giving baths to the horses near the stable. If you have taken the package, you can ride twice a day.

Guinea pigs, rabbits and chickens were all kept inside an enclosure in such a way you can experience them without disturbing them. Ducks waddling carefree near the pond area was our son’s favorite. Apart from that, you can also feed the sheep. Our son was so excited to hold and caress the baby sheep.

Kids’ Play Area
Ranging from trampoline jump to hurdles play to swings, kids play area was our kid’s favorite next to farm animals.

As we stayed there for three nights, we all loved little V’s routine of playing in the play area. In the early morning, V would be playing in trampoline, hurdles play and swing. Just before bath, he would play in the sand play area and crawl inside tires. He made a lot of friends there too.

Go Fishing
Pond is in the lowest level of resort. You have to either climb down the stairs or slide down the hill like our kid did to reach the pond. Once down, enjoy fishing with your little one in the manmade pond. My son was holding the fishing line in water and singing “Once I caught a fish alive”. We didn’t catch any fish. Even if anyone catches it, they are supposed to put it back in the pond.

Indulge your kids in gardening
Destiny is a self sufficient farm. Lot of patches inside the resort are maintained for agricultural purpose. Carrots, Cabbage, Radish and a lot of herbs are planted in every nook and corner of the resort. There is a session everyday noon for indulging your kids in gardening. Let your kid enjoy gardening by digging, sowing, watering and harvesting few radishes, already sown.

Hi tea time
Every evening we were looking forward to the ‘Hi tea time’ where everyone will assemble for tea. Fun games were also conducted to indulge the child in you. Hi tea and snacks were served with songs playing in the background to uplift the whole experience.

Open space
The resort has so much open space for your kids to run around and explore. Everyday evening we have taken our toddler around the resort playing football.

Little V had a ball of time playing in the vast outside space. This resort is one of the best places for pets too.

Ziplining
You can also do zip-lining inside the resort at an additional cost. We didn’t opt for it as we had a toddler in hand.

Trekking     
Ample opportunities for trekking are available near the resort. Every day morning, a small trek to a nearby hill is being organized by the resort management. It was fun to trek in the morning hours. You can get a panoramic view of nearby hills from the top.

Avalanche lake looked so beautiful from hilltop. Everything looks splendid when sun cast their spell in the morning hours. Isn’t it? Little V was playing around and picking small flowers from hilltop.

Cozy Rooms
Rooms are spacious with necessary amenities to make your stay comfortable. Wooden flooring of the rooms keep it warm and cozy during night. A large window panel in the front seating area separated from bedroom gives incredible view of valley.

Incredible View from your balcony
Resort has some incredible views to offer. Many rooms had a perfect lake view with mountains in backdrop. Beautiful sit out in front of your room adds a feather to the slow life the resort offers. It was pleasant watching the mist float by the lake and mountains in the morning and evening hours.

Eco-Friendly Alternatives
Be it the refilling of glass water bottle or providing fruits in baskets or not using single use plastics or changing linen on request basis, the resort had resorted to eco-friendly options in many areas.
Farm to Table Dining
Being a farm-stay, fresh farm produce are used for cooking delectable food. Buffet as well as Al carte menu are available in the restaurant. Buffet option is cost effective than Al carte.

Resort has kid friendly menu option too. On request, they had made Khichdi for our kid’s dinner. Overall the food is costly in the resort. There are no other options available for eating other than their restaurant too.

Other Activities
Apart from this, you can also indulge yourself in other activities like spa, camping by the lake, barbecue. These are set up based on request at an additional cost.

Destiny farm stay in the hinterlands of Nilgiris is the best resort if you have kids. From pet animals to fun play area to natural exploration, Destiny has all that your kids seek. Not to mention that adults will have a good time when the kids are happy.

If you have kids, it is better to opt for a package as many activities are included in the package rates. I would suggest at least 3 to 4 days stay at the resort to fully enjoy all the activities. Tips:

As Destiny Farm stay is located in avalanche, away from Ooty, it is advisable to hire a vehicle for drop off/pick up.

Road from parking area to resort is not in good condition. Be prepared for off road bumpy ride.

Resort is vast. Prepare yourself for a lot of walking. Wear proper shoes.
